Sunday, October 2nd

On Sunday, our full day tour will take us to historic Vai-Toplou Monastery-Sitia. We will visit Crete’s east end part, which is a world apart with rich flora and fauna, beautiful villages, beaches, gorges, caves and important archeological sites from the Minoan Ancient Greece and Roman times. We continue our tour, heading to Monastery of Toplou or Our Lady of the Cape. It is one of the most important monasteries of Crete. The two aisled church is dedicated to the nativity of Virgin Mary and St. John Evangelist, with fragments of wall paintings from the 14-15th centuries and an important portable Icon of the 18th century.
After the Monastery visit, we head to Sitia, located at north eastern coast of Crete. A small lively town of 10,000 inhabitants. It is an amphitheatrical built town, with a very quiet and picturesque harbor, long sandy beach and small archeological museum. Lunch included in Sitia.
