You will feel like royalty in Biarritz – the “Queen of Resorts and the Resort of Kings.” It was Napoleon 111 and his wife Eugenia who discovered this seaside paradise at the foot of the Pyrenean Mountains in 1854 and they built the Villa Eugenia as their summer palace. Biarritz is the center of the French Basque region and you will experience the colorful lifestyle and hospitality of these friendly people in this gem in the very far south west corner of France.
Less then 30 minutes from Biarritz, Les Pays Basque (Basque Country) is far removed from this sophisticated and cosmopolitan world.
